Castello Sforzesco

Visual identity
In 2019 the Castello Sforzesco in Milan participated in the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci with a major initiative dedicated to the master's works during his stay at the court of Ludovico il Moro. On this occasion, the restoration works of the frescoes in the Sala delle Asse were shown to the public for the first time and a rich schedule of exhibitions and cultural initiatives from May 2019 to January 2020 was presented. Dondina Associati realised the visual identity project and the communication system in collaboration with Civita.

In the Cortile delle Armi of the Castello Sforzesco, a few metres away from Leonardo's original, Leonardo's Pergola has come to life, a reproduction from life of the gigantic decoration that the master designed on the walls and ceiling of the Sala delle Asse, then known as the Camera dei Moroni, in 1498. In the Sala delle Asse, in fact, a specific type of pergola is represented, where the structure is made directly with the plant element: it is the living organism, the tree itself, appropriately cultivated and modelled, that creates the pergola, to the point of becoming true green architecture.
